Words of Wisdom

Sometimes words of wisdom originate from the most unlikely places. The following quote from Demetri Martin's stand-up routine titled 'The Wisdom Song' - "Be careful who you step on going up the ladder 'cause you will need them on the way down". Of course, he then makes fun of it. My twist to the saying - "you will need them to hold you up". Words quite similar to "I stand on the shoulders of giants before me". If you think about it, humanity has been around for a long time and there is a finite amount of wisdom that human mind can comprehend. So every saying should have been discovered and pondered upon thousands of times by humans in the past. Yet, we still do not have a good set of rules to follow. It can only mean that life is too complex to be condensed into a few simple words. So listen, wonder and move on.
