Man vs Machine

A NYTimes blog by Andy Kessler titled "In Medicine, It’s Man vs. Machine".
The author claims that, "In the many industries it’s transformed, technology works by getting rid of the people in its way — operators, tellers, travel agents, librarians, stock traders and on and on." Ridiculous... Cant be true. Or probably needs a continuation, "while creating newer kinds of jobs". I then looked at the author's bio and realized that he was a stock trader. He has the characteristic short term vision of a market analyst. The only relevant future is the day after today. So it is funny when he comes up with "The End of Medicine: How Silicon Valley (and Naked Mice) Will Reboot Your Doctor." Technology replacing human activities. Possible. It has happened in the past and will happen again. But would technology put an 'End' and replace us? Will we reach a stage where we cannot distinguish between a man and a machine? Never.
