slightly hurt

US and Italian ambassadors were 'slightly hurt' today when rebel SriLankan tigers fired at their helicopters. Now you cannot 'slightly' injure an US ambassador and get away easily. The SriLankan army quite gleefully blamed the tigers for attacking foreign diplomats "undertaking a humanitarian mission". The tigers immediately tried to cover their bases with the following statement: "Our people were not informed of the diplomatic movement. ... This is a criminal negligence on the part of the Sri Lankan military." What about all the civilians killed over the years? Whose 'criminal negligence' was that? People screw up all the time. Things get screwed up. But who has the guts to own up?
